The Hippy Sanctuary is a living, changing place, a concept, an idea.  If you missed our intro or need a refresher on how we came to be, check out:

An Introduction to the 'Hippy'

This web page is also a living document of who and what we are, what we've done or not.  So, bookmark this page and return often.
Call me tinker, web elf of this site.  My job here?  To be a clear voice for this place, this idea.  Nothing more, nothing less.  The Head Log is our 'Current Affairs' page so scroll down to find out what's going on.  The menu at the left will take you around the site.  Look around, have fun!

Tues. April 4, 06:  We're not still here!

In April, 2005, the Reverend decided to shut down the Hippy Sanctuary.  The last straw was when the Core Unit of the London Police Force came into the Sanctuary and charged two disabled, but un-carded, parishioners with possession of sacrament.  Reverend MacDowell felt that he could no longer protect his flock and chose to shut down operations...  for now.  We were also harassed during those last few weeks by uniformed 'beat cops', something that was new to us.  These 'bunko cops'  ,as we affectionately called them, came in periodically and selectively harassed people, flushed good sacrament down the 'loo' and didn't charge anyone.
So, for now, there is no safe place in London for us to congregate and share our thoughts, our ideas and our sacrament!  One of the Core Unit detectives actually said the he didn't believe that we were a church.  Now I know what the Jewish people in Germany must have felt like in the 1930's!

But we're not going to meekly lick our wounds and crawl away, no sir!  We'll keep this page alive and use it to help others in 'the Cause'.

The Rev put me on to this plea a few days ago. Free speech in the 'Land of the Brave' is an expensive commodity, read on...

Hi,

Thanks for taking a moment to read this. His House Live, the weekly talk radio show that I host here in Nashville on WRFN, will be expanding to XM satellite, I-pods, cell phones etc in the coming months.

This is a miraculous thing because it is the result of 8 years of effort on the part of many people here and I just 'stumbled' on the opportunity at the right time.

I am getting interviews lined up with more prominent politicians, pollsters, experts etc. and am going to start doing live 'on the scene' interviews also. This is a huge opportunity to get the truth out to the people that we are not being told by politicians, mainstream media OR our preachers (Let's hope they are waking up too!).

I am carrying both the website and the radio show by myself, along with supporting mym wife and 2 teenagers. It is very hard, and this month we literally ate bread and koolaid for a week. Please if you have an  opportunity to help me produce some top quality shows for this next big opportunity, in a short time I can be completely self sufficient. If you could sponsor the radio show or advertize on the website it would help us a lot, just reply and let me know what you can do either once or on a monthly basis. We give 501-c-3 tax  deductible receipts to anyone needing them.

I truly believe that His House Live is a huge  opportunity right now and hope you will see that also.  To donate using paypal go to the website - www.HisHouseMedia.com  and look a little down on the left from the top of the page for the paypal button.

As many of you know when our son Justin died last Spring he had a total of over $2 million in medical bills. Most were paid by insurance but we still have some debt, around $8,000. Still we have less debt than the average American household, and most of it is to relatives who know our situation and can wait.  However the medical bills were sent to collections as well as a few others we couldn't manage the last 2 years when Justin was the sickest and I lost months of work staying in hospital intensive care with him.

So know that your donations are being used to feed us and put gas in the car so I can continue the work, in anticipation of being fully self supporting with sponsors (radio show) and advertizers as soon as this Spring! A little more help to make it to the Summer and we will be sailing on the wind and you will share the blessing with us. also know we need your help right now at this crucial time.

Thanks,
Matt Pittaway, host, "His House Live" on WRFN Nashville.
